Thirty tracks (30) await you here from Arrow Records and it’s subsidiary

Bow Records. Formed in 1957 in Bridgeport, Conn, Arrow had a&r men and offices not only in Bridgeport, but in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, Hartford and New York.

For their short lived duration, 1957 – 1959, Arrow & Bow put out some really super Rhythm & Blues and Vocal Group recordings.

I believe you will truly enjoy the sounds offered on this compilation.

1. Barbara – Encores ’58 Bow (Start out Rockin’)

2. Thank You – flip side (Excellent Ballad)

3. Heaven Knows (I Love You) – Chuck-A-Lucks ’58 Bow (Even better this ballad is)

4. Chuck-A-Luck – flip side (Work out to this Rock & Roll Ditty)

5. Uncertain Love – Rabbit & Gino (Robert Robinson (aka Count Rabbit) and Gino Washington) ’58 Bow (Good uptempo by this duet) play

6. Why Did You Go – flip side (The slow side! A real seductive belly rubber here)

7. Hold My Hand – Freddie Scott ’58 Arrow (Groovin’ solo by Freddie)

8. Tell Them For Me – flip side (Super ballad! Definitely would have been enhanced further with vocal backup)

9. She’s My Baby – Otis Banks (Supposedly backed by the Majors) ’58 Bow (Good Uptempo)

10. Heaven In Your Eyes – Jimmy Jones & Jones Boys ’57 Arrow $350 (Definitely recognize Jimmy’s distinctive voice on this fine, fine ballad) play

11. The Whistlin’ Man – flip side (Now ya’ll no where Handy Man came from!)

12. Please Call – Freddie Scott & Chimes ’58 Arrow (Freddie heard me and got a group for this ballad! LIKE IT!)

13. The Letter Came This Morning – flip side (Rock & Roll)

14. Run & Tell – Billy Marsh (Mellotones) ’57 Arrow (Nudder good ballad)

15. Yeah, Yeah All The Time – Ginny Angel ’58 Bow (Ginny & unnamed female group with a good Rocker!)

16. A Faded Memory – ’58 Arrow (Freddie Scott takes the helm on this great ballad)

17. Lovin’ Baby – flip side (Move the furniture and Rock & Roll)

18. By My Side – Bobby Long ’58 Arrow (Bobby and maybe the Chimes behind him. Good ballad)

19. Patty – flip side (Good MOVER!)

20. What’s Happening Baby – Joe Erskine (aka Bobby Long) ’58 Arrow (Rockin’s some more with Bobby and group)

21. I Love You So, Oh – flip side (Still cutting the rug here too)

22. Tell Me That You Love Me – James Lewis ’58 Arrow (Gonna be thirsty! Another good Rocker

23. I Cried Last Night – flip side (still Rocking) play

Note: Tracks 22 & 23 listed in reverse order on the CD.

24. Wrapped, Tangled & Tied – RaV on’s ’58 Arrow (Good Latin beat. Cha Cha Cha)

25. Teenage Hop – flip side (As title indicates, ROCKER!)

26. Mr. John Law – Dick Grass & Hoppers ’59 Arrow (Solo by Dick. Hoppers are the his band)

27. Please Dear – flip side (Rockin’ solo here. Voices just don’t sound the same!)

29. Be Fair To Me – flip side (Good uptempo solo by Mr. Acey)

30. Milkshake – T. J. Fowler ’58 Arrow (Instrumental by T.J.’s combo)

There they are! What a great mix of recordings that Arrow & Bow has given to us.

I know you will welcome these tunes into your music libraries.

Brand new for 2003. Look for it wherever you shop for your 50’s & 60’s music treasures.
